DOUGHERTY Villa in Grafton is taking part in the first ever Aged and Community Services Australia (ACSA) National Aged Care Open Day on Friday.
Geoff Shepherd, chairman at Clarence Village Ltd, said it was a way to showcase the services on offer and the fantastic work that goes on at Dougherty Villa.
"Some people still have misconceptions about aged care services, so we are keen to dispel any myths that are out there and for people to come and have a look around," he said.
"Our participation in this open day is being replicated around the globe with other ACSA members across the state, nationally and with aged care services and providers across the UK and South Africa.
"It is very exciting to know we are involved in a global activity celebrating aging."
There will be an information session, aromatherapy massages tryouts and morning tea.
"For what we hope to be an annual event, the idea is to celebrate aged care services and encourage our community to visit Dougherty Villa and work together to develop better relationships, promoting the positive experiences of our older Australians," Mr Shepherd said.
You are invited to check out Dougherty Villa at 206 Arthur St, Grafton on Friday, 9.30-11.30am.
