A dimly lit stage would not stop Adam from performing at the end of the game

UNDER only the light of an empty drink fridge, Adam Young played beautifully to a setting sun over the football fields in Yamba.
As the footballers finished their final match and filtered into the club house, Mr Young took to his dimly lit stage for his performance as part of the Yamba Street Noise.
"I've played some strange gigs, and this is one of them, but I love it," he said.
Over the sounds of Yamba FC relaxing after their game, the Sydney-based artist played an interesting and melodic mix of music.
"It's sort of rock music, but it's sort of spiced up with some country and I play a lot of country songs," he said.
"My music is sort of country-flavoured rock, if you will."
Mr Young has been playing semi-professionally for 25 years.
"I was in a couple of bands in the early '90s, early mid '90s, then I went off to have a kid and try and make a living," he said.
"I've been doing what I'm doing for about 10 years."
Dan Griffin, one of the Yamba Street Noise organisers who was at the clubhouse to hear Mr Young, said he had come up with the idea for the festival while in Athens.
"It was an amazing day of music everywhere you went, and I didn't know what it was, there was no advertising, it was just people playing music and it wasn't great music, it was just people enjoying music," Mr Griffin said.
"I went from 10 o'clock in the morning to 10 o'clock at night. The Acropolis was good, but the music was much better."
But Mr Griffin wasn't interested in running an organised event.
"I just put on Facebook, who wants to do it, and everything that has happened today is purely people are doing it themselves under the umbrella of what we are doing," he said.
Mr Griffin was originally planning to host an event in his front yard, but chose to hold it at the football club because he had to be there. "I thought well this is a great space, so why not use it."
