ALEX Turnbull has waged into the Wentworth by-election again, this time telling voters to back Dr Kerryn Phelps for the strongest chance of blocking the Liberals from holding onto the seat.
The son of the former prime minister has previously supported Labor’s Tim Murray but took to Twitter today to support Dr Phelps.
“So realistically if it’s tight, and the preference flows are as they are, it’s better to vote for @drkerrynphelps if you want greater certainty of the Liberals not retaining the seat. However, if you want to virtue signal and not win, do your thing @Greens,” he said.

He said anyone voting for Mr Murray should be “very sharp about your preferencing”.
The younger Mr Turnbull has been accused of acting as a proxy for his father by airing his anti-Liberal views.
Alex Turnbull, who is based in Singapore, has previously said he hasn’t sought his father’s permission for his anti-Liberal rhetoric.
He says he wants to send a message to the government over their positions on energy and climate policy by aiding their defeat in the seat.
He further weighed into political commentary last night by listing the five Liberal MPs he considered to be the most “crazy” — Tony Abbott, Peter Dutton, Angus Taylor, Kevin Andrews and Eric Abetz.
While Alex Turnbull said Mr Taylor, who was recently appointed as Energy Minister, was “very intelligent” but “he can’t get on the right side of events.”
