Wild footage has emerged of a brawl at a popular Sydney nightclub over the weekend.
The clip, taken at the Pool Club inside Sydney’s Ivy precinct at about 6pm on Sunday, shows a man exclaiming “Why? why?” before the camera turns to show more than a dozen people tussling inside the rooftop club as disco music plays in the background.

A woman is seen holding another back and staff, clad in grey shirts with security lanyards, are seen trying to separate a group of men throwing punches at each other before the fight spills from an upper level of the club onto the section surrounding the venue’s famous pool.

Security stand over the man, shoving others away as they try to approach while the man, drenched with water, slowly tries to get to his feet before a foot to the face sends him back into the water.

The last moments of the vision show staff trying to help the man to his feet as he crawls away form the pool, his clothes drenched.

In another clip of the same incident which was posted to social media, captioned “Seriously, what a mess,” a group of men are seen shoving, stomping on and kicking a man lying on the club’s orange seating area.
A staff member of the club is seen trying to shove the men away before falling on top of the man, who is curled in the foetal position amid the chaos.

Despite the staff member’s fall, the footage shows the other men still punching and stomping on the other man, hitting the employee in the process before a larger security guard intervenes, hauling several of the men up and away from the pair.
During the chaos, another man in a cap, sunglasses and a white shirt is seen laughing and smiling as he stands over the fight, thrusting his hips and punching the air as more staff arrive, driving the group off the seating area and down onto the pool deck.

There, the confrontation continues, before a woman in black is seen to approach a man standing next to dancing man, yelling and pointing at him.

The camera cuts away, before returning to the area where a woman in a crop top is seen grabbing the hair of a girl with a yellow dress and punching her repeatedly as two men intervene, trying to separate them, whole another holds a third girl in white back from the altercation.

A 23 year-old man was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with a concussion, a cut to his left eye and other injuries, according to police, where he remains in a stable condition.

It is not yet known what sparked the incident, but police confirmed they are now investigating and working to identify the people involved.

At this stage just one man, a 23-year-old, was taken into custody and charged.

He was charged with affray and will appear at Downing Centre on April 10.

The Pool Club is owned by pub baron Justin Hemmes as part of his Merivale empire.
The venue is described on its website as “a little slice of heaven inspired by the Italian coastline”.
