Sydney real estate agency McGrath received a complaint about its top eastern suburbs agent Adrian Bo more than a year before he was accused of making lewd comments to a younger male employee asking “how many c**ks” have you had in your mouth”.

One woman resigned last year in June from the firm’s Edgecliff office, citing Mr Bo as one reason for her decision in her letter of departure dated June 15, 2018.

“I am not comfortable working in the business with Adrian Bo,” the letter is understood to say.

Mr Bo was doing a temporary “caretaker” role at the Edgecliff office at the time to fill in for a staff member who had left.

The Daily Telegraph revealed married Mr Bo, who has worked at the firm for 25 years, stands accused of asking a much younger colleague “how many c**ks have you had in your mouth” in an unsolicited conversation outside an office two weeks ago, triggering an internal HR investigation headed by an external lawyer.

Mr Bo vociferously denies the conversation took place and is said to have been left “shattered” by the complaint lodged two weeks ago.

Company spokesman Tim Allerton said: “McGrath will not comment on specific historical workforce matters but treats all workplace behaviours in a serious and confidential manner for the protection of all of our team members.

“We have a code of conduct and we work to ensure compliance with that code at all times through a variety of approaches, including professional complaint management and appropriate action when breaches occur.

“The current, confidential inquiry is ongoing and will be completed shortly.”

He is expected to learn of his fate at the company early this week before its AGM on Thursday.

Celebrity real estate agent John McGrath has since been drafted in as the temporary head of the McGrath sales team after the hasty hiatus of the veteran sales leader.

Until last week, the role of company sales team leader was shared by Mr Bo and Mr McGrath.

McGrath Ltd did not want to comment on the complaint made to HR manager last year in June.

Mr Allerton said its current investigation into alleged misconduct is scheduled to conclude early this week and that John McGrath had in the interim taken control of the helm of national sales team leader.

The ongoing investigation is said to have left the staffer “really disturbed”.

He initially did not want anyone to find out but felt compelled to complain after relations in the office became strained.

Mr Bo did not respond to The Daily Telegraph’s calls.
