Evie Amati, 24 of Enmore has been charged with two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent when she allegedly swung the axe into victim, Ben Rimmer’s face before she is accused of walloping another customer, Sharon Hacker, 43, over the back of the head.

Police allege Amati is the heavily tattooed young woman with scruffy blonde hair that walks through the automatic doors of the 7-Eleven just at 2.19am on Saturday hefting a large axe from one hand to the other.

In the CCTV footage Ms Hacker can be seen paying for milk at the counter, then Mr Rimmer comes into the frame a few seconds later and queues behind her.

The blonde woman then comes up to Mr Rimmer with what looks like a large knife in the back of her shorts and begins talking to him standing very close.

They chat for a few seconds and then, as Mr Rimmer turns to pay for his pie the blonde woman swings her axe and hits him in the face knocking him onto his back.

Police were called and sniffer dogs found Ms Amati lying in the front yard of a nearby property.

Amati appeared in Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday where she made no release application but asked that she be provided with medication used by those changing their gender from male to female.

Ms Hacker told media the day after the attack that her thick dreadlocks saved her from serious injury but Mr Rimmer was not so lucky. “His face was completely opened up and bleeding profusely, I’m just very lucky that I have very thick dreadlocks,” she said.

Mr Rimmer remains in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition. Ms Amati will reappear on court on Thursday.
