Music superstar Elton John is still standing and will be bringing his farewell tour to the new Sydney Football Stadium as part of NSW’s busiest ever concert line up.

The British rocker will play at the new 42,500 seat Allianz Stadium at Moore Park on January 18th next year as part of a concert line-up that will pump almost $80 million into the NSW economy.

“I am so excited to share my very last Farewell Yellow Brick Road shows with you in 2023.

“I cannot believe it will be three whole years since our last visit,” the singer said in a recorded message.

“And Newcastle. I’m finally coming your way for my first Newcastle show ever. Join me for a night of memories, singalongs and a fond farewell.”

“This is great news for NSW, as every concert drives large numbers of local jobs and economic growth for the state.”

Elton John will also take his Farewell Yellow Brick Road: The Final Tour to Newcastle’s McDonald Jones Stadium on January 10 – the first major concert the 30,000 seat stadium has staged in 32 years.

The Rocket Man singer will be the Second International act to play at the new stadium after Canadian Justin Bieber’s first global outing on November 29 and 30.

Accor Stadium will host Guns N’ Roses on November 27, the Red Hot Chili Peppers on February 2, Ed Sheeran on February 24 and 25 and Harry Styles on March 3 and 4.

Aussie country king Keith Urban will be playing in Wollongong at WIN Entertainment Centre on December 8th. More global superstars are expected to be announced over the coming weeks.

“We can’t wait to welcome these iconic shows to our world-class venues, including Sydney’s brand new Allianz Stadium, our Olympic venue at Accor Stadium, Newcastle’s McDonald Jones Stadium, which will host its first major concert in 32 years, and Wollongong’s WIN Entertainment Centre,” Ms Mather said.

Each of the 11 concerts is expected to generate between $5 million and $7 million each through jobs created directly and indirectly by the event, money spent on accommodation and entertainment, transport and restaurants as well as the concert ticket itself.
