Elaborate cannabis set-up allegedly found in a hidden bikie bunker

An elaborate hydroponic set-up has been discovered in a Western Sydney house with a senior Bandidos bikie accused of running the drug ring under a trapdoor in his house. SEE THE PHOTOS

A hidden trapdoor at the western Sydney home of a Bandidos outlaw motorcycle gang member has revealed hundreds of cannabis plants, police allege.

Officers from Strike Force Raptor said they discovered the set-up during a firearms search warrant at the East Kurrajong property yesterday which was part of an ongoing targeting operation of criminal networks across NSW.

A 41-year-old man, who was the subject of the warrant, and his partner were spoken to before officers began the search.

Police allege that they then found an underground bunker beneath a trapdoor which contained an elaborate hydroponic set-up.

A crime scene was quickly established with specialist forensic officers, Fire and Rescue NSW, Integral Energy and an agronomist assisting Strike Force Raptor to dismantle the bunker.

164 cannabis plants at various stages of maturity, 2kg of dried cannabis and equipment used to cultivate cannabis were allegedly seized.

Michael Roland William Gregg, who is allegedly a senior member of the Bandidos OMCG, was arrested at the home and charged with several offences including enhanced indoor cultivation for a commercial purpose, two counts of supply prohibited drug and operate drug premises.

He did not apply for bail and it was formally refused. Gregg is due back in court on January 25.
