Point Piper businessman Ron Brierley has been arrested by police and charged with possessing child abuse material.
Brierley, 87, was arrested by NSW Police on Tuesday morning and charged with three counts of possess child abuse material, and faced Waverley Local Court where he was granted bail.
In a statement, a NSW Police spokesperson said: “Following investigations by detectives attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command, an 87-year-old man was arrested today, at a Point Piper home”.
“The man was taken to Waverley Police Station where he was charged with three counts of possess child abuse material.
“He was refused bail to appear before Waverley Local Court today where he was granted conditional bail to reappear on Tuesday, March 25 2025.”
The New Zealand-born Brierley was once a titan of the business world and a renowned corporate raider.
