A man accused of raping a young woman in Stanmore has been described as “a predator”, admitting to his alleged victim he had done the same to numerous women before, a court has heard.

Daniel Peter Andrew Boone shook his head on several occasions at the Newtown Local Court on Tuesday as the details surrounding his “stealthing” case were aired.

Stealthing is the common term referring to the act of removing a condom without consent.

Boone, 24, has other criminal matters ongoing, the court heard.

The 24-year-old Kingsford man has been charged with sexual intercourse without consent and is accused by police of removing a condom during a sexual encounter with a woman in May.

A British national, Boone allegedly Googled “is it an offence to take a condom off during sex” before police had charged him, the court was told.

Police allegedly have obtained evidence of Boone telling his victim he had “done it to heaps of girls before and they hadn't got pregnant”.

His alleged comments left a Sydney magistrate openly questioning whether there were more victims of Boone’s out in the community.

His lawyer had argued that among the case against Boone none of the evidence could be corroborated.

“The facts say the room is dark so she couldn’t see given the apparent sex position,” Matthew Bogunovich said.

“The main source of evidence is in two conversations … but there is no witness to that.

“She claims to hear the sound of a condom being removed but it really is a puzzling comment when one thinks about it.”

Police allege one piece of evidence is the alleged victim’s conversations with Boone about the incident in the kitchen after he was seen leaving a friend’s bedroom.

He was granted bail this week under strict conditions.

Magistrate Glenn Bartley granted him strict bail but on numerous occasions referred to Boone as a “predator of women” and openly questioned if more young women might come forward.

“He’s moved on to other women, he’s admitted his MO as a predator who commences sexual acts with women and then removes the condom without consent,” he said.

“That is his MO as a predator and hat has to be addressed.”

Boone’s social media depicts a young man enjoying the sun and sights of Australia, five years after making the move down under.

Some images enjoying the sun-kissed beaches of NSW while others show a shirtless Boone at the gym.

Boone will return to court later this year.
