A world-renowned music artist and producer– who sent fans into hysterics when he touched down in Sydney - is holding another surprise performance before leaving the harbour city.

Heartbroken musos who missed out on tickets for British electronic dance music artist Fred Again’s Sydney shows this week, have one final chance to catch the techno superstar perform live, with tickets going on sale via Ticketek at 2pm on Wednesday.

“Okay Sydney. We’re going to do a big fat sorta end of shows week party at the Domain on Saturday. Imma be Djing with some friends,” Fred posted on Instagram on Wednesday afternoon.

A NSW Government document titled “Road Close Overview – HIVE @ The Domain” made public this week sent the rumour mill rampant, with suggestions Fred Again will be performing a set at The Domain on Saturday 16 March.

The news of the pop up event – which appears to have been labelled as “HIVE @ The Domain 2024”, was first discovered by super – sleuths and shared on social media.

Fans posted images of signage which reads “Event at the Domain 16 March” in the CBD, along with temporary fencing around the perimeter of the venue and a sign on the fence which reads “this fence is installed for a SPECIAL EVENT to be held on Saturday 16th March”, on TikTok.

On Wednesday afternoon, construction crews could be seen walking with what appears to be a giant light-up ball to be used as part of the set for the event.

To make things further suspicious for fans, Fred posted a very similar if not identical looking floating bulb on his Instagram story, less than one hour beforehand.

Dozens of security staff and event personnel surrounded the grass area, assembled tents and travelled in and out of the fenced off area on Wednesday afternoon.

Photographs which appear to be of a job advertisement titled “HIVE: 16th March – BAR STAFF WANTED”, also circulated on social media, prior to the announcement of the final Sydney gig.

“HIVE show just announced at the DOMAIN, Sydney on Saturday 16th March – and we need Bar Staff,” the post said.

“HIVE is an international headline DJ event, with two (2) to three (3) support acts, primarily for an 18 + demographic it is anticipated the audience will be 18 – 35 year olds.

“The headline DJ has been a headline artist in Australia and New Zealand in 2023 and since has been nominated for a Grammy award in February 2024.

Fred fit this brief, after making his live debut in Australia in January 2023 at Laneway Festival before surprise DJ pop-ups including a set for 5500 people at the Hordern Pavilion.

He also won two Grammys at this year’s awards including best dance/electronic album and best dance/electronic recording for track “Rumble” with Skrillex and Flowdan.

The London – based DJ announced his Australian tour just over a fortnight ago – when he surprised fans with an initial sold out Sydney show, revealing his arrival in Australia.

He performed in Melbourne last week at Rod Laver Arena, with three shows on March 4, 5 and 6 and a pop up show in the Gold Coast on March 9, before coming back to Sydney for three sell out shows on March 12, 13 and 14 at Qudos Bank Arena.

Thousands of fans queued for hours in Ticketek’s lines for the initial coveted concert tickets, and sadly missed out.

Now, Fred Again fans are losing their minds over the chance to see the Delilah (pull me out of this) performer live, once more in Sydney.

The Daily Telegraph contacted the Botanic Gardens – which manages The Domain for comment on Wednesday morning and while staff could not confirm any involvement with Fred Again at the time, they could confirm an event was being held at the venue on Saturday.

“The Domain has been booked for an event this coming weekend,” a spokesman for Botanic Gardens Sydney said before the ticket announcement.

“The organisers have not published details of the event and we have no further information to provide at this time.”

More to come.
