A COMANCHERO bikie will front court today charged with fraud and counterfeit cash offences, months after he was charged over an elaborate hydroponic cannabis set-up at a home in NSW’s central west.
Strike Force Raptor, assisted by the Public Order and Riot Squad, raided a home at Oberon on August 23, where they seized numerous items, including counterfeit currency.
They allegedly found 146 cannabis plants and about 4.5kg of cannabis as part of an “enhanced indoor hydroponic cannabis set-up” that stretched across several rooms.
Officers also seized a loaded 12-gauge, single-barrel shotgun, ammunition and mobile phones.
A 45-year-old man was charged with drug and firearms offences at the time.
As a result of further inquiries, the man was arrested by Strike Force Raptor at Bathurst Police Station on November 15.
He was charged with two counts of utter counterfeit money knowing it to be counterfeit and dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception.
The man, who is a member of the Comanchero bikie gang, remained in custody to appear at Bathurst Local Court today.
Strike Force Raptor was established in 2009 to go after bikie gangs.
