Fingerprint results on seized sealed bags has led to a fresh charge of large scale drug supply against Solomone Fangupo, 26, who was on bail when he was charged.
On June 27 police raided two Woolgoolga properties simultaneously — one occupied by the accused Solomone, the other by his brother Sione Fangupo, 28.
A NSW court heard police will allege fingerprints now link Solomone to bags of drugs located at his brother’s house.
Defence solicitor Scott Carter requested bail for his client, noting compliance with his existing bail from July 15 over drugs, supply and weapon charges.
Mr Carter told the court Fangupo did not hinder his arrest on Wednesday at a Woolgoolga gym and that he demonstrated a willingness to co-operate with police.
In Bail Court Division 1 on Thursday Police Prosecutor Sergeant Jones opposed the bail.
“We will allege a joint criminal enterprise for these parties,” Ms Jones told the court regarding the two brothers.
Magistrate Karen Stafford told the court the new charge is a “very different supply charge” — “three times the commercial drug quantity” with a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.
“Your fingerprint was on a plastic bag that contains a large commercial quantity of the drug,” Ms Stafford told Fangupo.
“It is damning evidence against you.”
He is further charged with failing to comply with digital evidence access order direction, two counts of possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit, dealing with property the proceeds of crime, possessing a prohibited drug and supplying a prohibited drug less than commercial quantity.
Sione Fangupo is charged with three counts of possessing a prohibited drug and one count of supplying a prohibited drug more than a commercial quantity.
He was bail refused on July 1 at Coffs Harbour however a bail hearing will be heard in the Supreme Court on September 11.
Both men will appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court on September 9.
