Woman refused bail after Nambucca Heads unit fire

A woman has been charged after a Nambucca Heads unit was destroyed in a fire yesterday. Here’s the latest.

A woman has been refused bail at a Coffs Harbour court after a unit was gutted by fire at Nambucca Heads.

Emergency services were called after smoke was spotted billowing from the Bank St blaze shortly after midday on Thursday.

The unit was already fully engulfed by flames.

Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters extinguished the fire, with support from the Rural Fire Service.

No injuries were reported.

Mid-North Coast Police District officers set up a crime scene which was examined by specialist police.

Soon after, a 44-year-old woman was arrested on nearby Link Rd.

Tina Maree Chapman faced Coffs Harbour Local Court today charged with damage property by fire/explosion greater than $15,000 and destroying or damaging a property.

Bail was not applied for and it was formally refused.

Chapman is to appear at Coffs court via audio visual link on July 11.
