An extensive search for a Coffs Coast teen missing for five days has been suspended as authorities cling to hope he will be found.
Jacob Partridge, 17, was last seen by friends about 11pm near Emerald Beach, 20km north of Coffs Harbour, on Friday December 6.
A cooperative multi-agency search was launched the following day.
On Wednesday, Coffs-Clarence Crime Command Crime Manager Aaron Van Schaik said the marine and land search component had moved to a different phase.
“Given it’s been several days, if he’s in the water, the drift area could be quite some area after several days,” he said.
“Drift patterns would be of key importance to how the Marine Area Command direct the search.”
The Marine Area Command will keep monitoring the many different water courses and creeks around the Emerald Beach area, Van Schaik said.
“We are also seeking witnesses who may have knowledge about Jacob’s activities on Friday night.
“If there’s any witnesses that had seen Jacob from 8pm on the Friday onwards or if anyone had any sightings of him, whether that be in person or dashcam footage or a fixed CCTV on their premises that would show him walking past please contact police.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Coffs Harbour police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
