A Woolgoolga man went into the local RSL Club for a pub meal and came out with a $63,000 Keno win recently.
He held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in game 447 on Sunday, worth $63,710.10.
The jubilant winner plans to use his prize to buy some land so he can eventually build his dream home.
“I can’t believe it. I thought it was just a normal Sunday, but it was so much better than I could have ever imagined,” he laughed.
“I wasn’t actually there when the draw happened. Every couple of weeks I go and have a meal at the club with my family.
“Recently, I started playing some Keno and this Sunday, I was just feeling lucky, so I decided to give it a go.
“I was so distracted that I left and didn’t even think about the ticket.”
The next day, when he was on his way to work, he remembered, so he checked the results.
“There was lots of cheering and jumping up and down.
“I called my wife and told her straight away and she was so excited too! She couldn’t stop crying. We are planning to have a big dinner with our family and break the news to them then.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy the money, the overjoyed dad said he had one thing in mind.
“It means we will be able to buy some land to build our dream home,” he shared.
“We’ve been planning to do it for a while now, so this just helps us finally do it.”
Woolgoolga RSL Club CEO Glenn Buckley said it was very exciting to be celebrating another major win at the venue.
“We actually sold a 8 Spot winning entry just a few weeks ago, so we’re feeling a bit lucky at the moment.
“Hopefully this is the start of a winning streak.”
In 2020, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 59.9 million wins collectively worth more than $840.6 million.
