A young Coffs Harbour man who exerted control over a longtime partner has landed in court after threatening to make her undatable.

“Watch how Ugly I Make you – no one will ever touch you again”, Raymond Junior West warned the woman in an email exchange on September 27.

The Toormina man also wrote “hello dumbdog” and “you are dead”, according to court documents.

The victim, who had been in a relationship with West for eight years, countered “i don’t want u no more u f**ked up not me”.

West pleaded guilty at Coffs Harbour Local Court on Tuesday to two charges of stalk or intimidate intending to cause fear of physical or mental harm and one count of contravene prohibition or restriction in an apprehended domestic violence order.

Police facts state West, 28, was recently released from jail and fitted with an electronic monitoring ankle device to reduce the risk to the victim.

On September 6 an apprehended domestic violence order was put in place.

West contacted the victim by phone calls, texts and emails – and the pair met at Jordan Esplanade at The Jetty for a short walk, which the woman said was pleasant, according to court documents.

One week before reporting the offending to police, the victim went to West’s home.

West was using a dating app, and an argument followed.

He grabbed the woman’s mobile phone and refused to return it.

West was in custody and did not attend Coffs Harbour Court on Tuesday when guilty pleas were entered to three charges.

The threatening email exchange came two days later. The victim agreed to meet West when she got her phone back and returned home.

On October 3 they met at his home, when police facts state West grabbed her phone and “started going through it, questioning her relationship with people”.

The victim walked out, got in her car and locked it.

West punched the driver’s side window and then walked to the end of the one-way street, blocking her exit.

After waiting in the car for about 20 minutes, she said: “What are you doing mother f**ker?”

He then ran up to the car and said “If you wanna go you can go”, police facts state, before twice throwing the woman’s phone at the vehicle.

The victim then reported the incidents to police.

West is in custody and did not appear at Coffs court on Tuesday.

Magistrate Michael Dakin adjourned the case to be finalised on January 11.
