A dual citizen who spends half-the-year in Coffs Harbour, and the other half snowboarding in France, is facing several domestic violence charges, including choking, after he allegedly discovered his brother had spent the night with his ex-girlfriend.

Spencer Frize has pleaded not guilty to three charges relating to the same alleged victim, and appeared visibly distressed in Coffs Harbour Local Court on Tuesday, November 15, hitting himself repeatedly with a folder as he walked out of court.

The 22-year-old has been charged with common assault (domestic violence related); intentionally choke a person without consent; and stalk or intimidate to cause fear of physical or mental harm (domestic violence).

The charges relate to an alleged incident at Toormina on Monday morning, November 14.

When Frize noticed his brother was not at their Toormina home on Monday morning he contacted him to ask who he was with, and learnt he had spent the night with his ex-girlfriend, according to police facts.

After returning to their Toormina home and dropping off his brother, Frize allegedly got into the car with the alleged victim and they drove a short distance around the corner to Wave Crescent at Toormina.

According to police documents this is where the alleged assault took place, during which he called her a “slut”, slapped her in the face, squeezed her neck on and off causing her to feel dizzy and told her “I wish I could stab you”.
