A Quirindi couple are alleged by police to have armed themselves with a knife and a piece of timber before a violent home invasion at Macksville.

The pair, Tyson Corrie, 20, and his partner Shayala Flett, 21, faced Coffs Harbour Local Court, pleading guilty to affray.

The duo have also been charged with aggravated break and enter (committing a serious indictable offence while armed), with no formal pleas entered to that charge.

Police allege in court documents that Corrie wielded a “piece of timber” while Flett wielded a knife as they broke into the home on August 17 at about 4pm.

Police also allege a victim “suffered injury” and the pair used “unlawful violence”.

The alleged injuries were not detailed in court documents.

Corrie and Flett have been on bail since August 22.

On February 28, the case was adjourned a month to March 28.
