Four teenagers will appear in the Coffs Harbour Children's Court today after an alleged crime spree that included a police pursuit.

WEDNESDAY 7AM: FIVE teenagers have been arrested following investigations into vehicle theft and break-ins, and a police pursuit in Coffs Harbour on Tuesday.

Police will allege a Holden Astra was stolen from an address in Queensland on Saturday, August 24.

It travelled down to NSW where it was involved in a number of fraud and property theft offences before it crashed into a bollard at Saltwater Park on Harbour Dr, Coffs Harbour.

It's alleged the five occupants of the Astra got out of the car and broke into a number of parked vehicles in the jetty area before stealing a Nissan Patrol.

Witnesses contacted police and officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District arrived at the jetty on Tuesday about 5am  where they arrested three of the teens aged 14, 15 and 16.

About 6.45am police were patrolling the vicinity of Gordon St when they were flagged down by a man who told police his vehicle had been stolen.

While speaking with police his vehicle travelled past.

Officers pursued the vehicle before it crashed on Earl St and after a short foot pursuit police arrested a 16-year-old boy.

A short time later police arrested a 17-year-old boy in Castle St, Coffs Harbour, who was allegedly the fifth occupant of the stolen Astra.

All teens were taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station where the 16-year-old boy was released into the care of his parents and will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.

The 14-year-old girl and two boys aged 15 and 17, were charged with numerous offences including receiving stolen property and having custody of a knife in a public place.

They were refused bail to appear before a children's court in Coffs Harbour today.

The 16-year-old boy was charged with numerous offences including Skye's Law (Police Pursuit).

He was refused bail and will also appear in a children's court at Coffs Harbour today.

TUESDAY 2PM: A GROUP of Queensland teenagers are this afternoon being interviewed by police after a number of cars were stolen around the city prior to a police pursuit today.

Queensland police circulated a call for NSW Police to be on the lookout for a Holden Astra that was reported stolen. 

Coffs Harbour police responded to reports that another vehicle had been stolen from a Coffs Harbour Hood St address early this morning. 

Coffs Clarence Duty Officer Acting Inspector Kingsley Chapman said police attended Saltwater Park where they found both stolen vehicles and took three young people into custody around 4.30am. 

"Around 7am this morning officers engaged in a pursuit with a third stolen vehicle a Toyota Camry in Scarba St," Inspt. Chapman said. 

"The pursuit ended in Earl St and the offender has decamped into nearby Park Ave. 

"It will be alleged the offender had jumped out of the vehicle while it was still moving and the car rolled into a car park and impacted with a parked vehicle. 

Insp. Chapman said a fifth juvenile was arrested in Castle St, and it's alleged he had earlier been in the company of the other juveniles who were detained. 

The youth aged 14-17 are being questioned and will face charges to appear in the Coffs Harbour Children's Court tomorrow morning.

Youth jumps from car during pursuit

TUESDAY 9AM: COFFS Harbour police have detained five juveniles after a series of incidents that included a pursuit through the city today.

Four young males and a female are assisting police this afternoon. 

Three of the Queensland-based youth were arrested early this morning.  

Another youth was later taken into custody near Brelsford Park after a pursuit and a chase on foot with officers around 7am, metres from where the car had rolled across a busy street into a car park and struck another vehicle.
