A 25-year-old man has been remanded in custody since an alleged domestic violence incident on Saturday, March 12.

A mother was allegedly hit, kicked and bitten on the nose after an argument with her son.

Coffs Harbour Local Court heard Joshua Quillan Wild, 25, allegedly argued with his mother and became so enraged by the fact she wouldn’t do what he asked, he kicked her, bit her nose and punched her in the face.

The alleged attack took place in her Toormina home and when her partner tried to intervene, Mr Wild allegedly hit him twice.

Mr Wild appeared in court on Monday to face seven charges relating to an alleged March 12 attack.

He had been remanded in custody since the incident and his lawyer Scott James argued he should be released on bail.

He told the court the alleged behaviour was “totally out of character” and that if released on bail his client would agree not to go anywhere near his mother’s Toormina home.

Mr James told the court that “alcohol was an issue on the day for some of the behaviour” and that if granted bail his client would agree to abstain from alcohol.

He said Mr Wild was employed on a full-time basis installing window blinds up and down the coast.

Ultimately, Magistrate Ian Rodgers agreed with police prosecutor Kylie Banks that he should be remanded in custody.

Mr Wild was refused bail and the matter will be back before the court on March 23.

His domestic violence related charges include assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm, common assault and two counts of destroy or damage property.
