Negotiations continue in the case of a Bellingen man accused of possessing child abuse material and importing a prohibited sex doll.
Erran Lavender is facing six charges in relation to the alleged behaviour which took place between March and October of last year in Bellingen.
On Tuesday, November 15, the lawyer representing the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions told Coffs Harbour Local Court that a “counter offer” was being considered in the case and that a two-week adjournment would be appropriate.
Lavender’s lawyer Kinloch Oliver told the court his client did not attend in person as he expected it to be a short adjournment mention.
The 23-year-old last attended Coffs Harbour Local Court when the matter was mentioned on October 25, sitting quietly in a blue check shirt at the back of the courtroom.
He has not yet entered a plea in relation to the six charges which include two counts of possessing child abuse material, two charges of using a carriage service to access child abuse material and two charges of importing what’s known as a ‘tier two good’ – in this case a sex doll.
The matter has been adjourned to November 29.
