A man and woman have been charged with supplying meth on an ongoing basis across the Coffs Coast with police alleging they intercepted “thousands” of calls and texts during investigations, a court has heard.

Colt Shannon Byrne, 33, is facing 16 drug charges, including one of supplying prohibited drugs (methamphetamines) on an ongoing basis. The other charges also relate to supplying meth in various quantities ranging from 0.1g to 3.5g.

His co-accused is Trina Mackney. The 51-year-old is facing six charges, including three of supplying drugs on an ongoing basis and one of possessing a prohibited drug.

Mackney is also charged with possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit and having goods suspected of being stolen in/on the premises (not a motor vehicle).

The co-accused have been on bail since their arrest in May last year and their cases both came before Coffs Harbour Local Court on January 24.

It was a “regular” occurrence for the co-accused to supply anything between a point (0.1g) for $100 up to an eight ball (3.5g) for about $1400, police allege according to court documents.

Charges relate to a time frame from late November, 2021, when police began investigating, to the time of the pair’s arrest in late May last year.

Police allege the drug supply took place in the Nambucca and Coffs Harbour area.

Byrne’s case will return to court on February 28 and he is expected to enter a plea.

Mackney’s case will return on February 14 for charge certification.
