A motorcyclist has died after crashing into a power pole near Coffs Harbour.
The man, aged 45, was riding along Coramba Rd in Karangi, 20 minutes drive west of Coffs, when his motorbike left the road and crashed just before 2pm on Saturday, March 25.
Bystanders administered first aid to the rider before NSW Ambulance paramedics took the unresponsive man to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital in a critical condition.
He was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Emergency services closed Coramba Rd and motorists were urged to take alternate routes.
Diversions were put in place on Hartleys Rd to the west and Poperaperan Creek Rd to the east.
Officers attached to Coffs-Clarence Police District established a crime scene and have opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
