The latest luxury offering in The Promised Land, southwest of Coffs Harbour near the picturesque town of Bellingen, is turning up the heat on an already hot property market.
Currently operating as The Promised Land Retreat, it boasts the main family house with three luxury holiday chalets, a games room, huge two-storey shed, tennis court and stables.
The 100 acre property, 12km north of Bellingen, has river frontage on the Never Never River.
The house and three chalets are unique in construction, crafted out of local timber and taking full advantage of the spectacular views. It is on the market for between $6.6m and $6.9m.
The property is on 934 Promised Land Road, next door to the opulent Hermes Estate retreat where a development application for a helipad is pending with Bellingen Shire Council.
Ultra-luxury is an understatement when describing the accommodation and inclusions on offer at the private hotel where, according to the website: ‘every desire is provided for’.
There has been much opposition to the proposed helipad with a sign erected on the playing fields on the main road leading into Bellingen saying a helipad in The Promised Land is a ‘joke’.
The helipad proposal will go to Council in coming weeks.
According to documents lodged as part of the helipad development application the frequency of flights will range from ‘less than seven movements in every week’ to possibly ’less than 12 movement per year’ with the assurance they will ’not be a daily or even a monthly occurrence’.
Any prospective buyers for 934 Promised Land Road will no doubt be keeping a close eye on the vote when it comes to Council.
Mayor Dominic King could not say when this would be but the Advocate understands it will be in the next few weeks.
It comes with all the equipment necessary to run the chalets and maintain the property: new zero turn mower, recent tractor with loading bucket and slasher and other implements for further farming ventures. The property also has a 3 ML water license on the Never Never River for farming.
It also comes with a great reputation if online reviews are anything to go by with 97 per cent of guests giving it a five out of five praising the stunning views, the gracious hosts and its location in a private setting yet only a short drive to Bellingen.
Towards the coast at Repton another luxury offering is on the market for just under $3m.
The five-bedroom architecturally designed home has three pavilions, all accessible by a covered entertaining area, with each one described as a mini-retreat.
Andrew Perrot from Bellingen Property says it last sold for approximately $1.4m just over five years ago.
“And things have really changed, particularly in the last twelve months or so.”
