A fire which burnt a rural home to the ground on Monday night is thought to have started in the kitchen of a caravan.
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) tasked five fire trucks to the Wirrimbi Rd blaze, which broke out about 4pm.
Emergency services at the scene at Wirrimbi on the Coffs Coast included police, paramedics and a hazmat unit.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus attacked the flames which eventually left a large tin shed charred and partially collapsed. A caravan was also gutted.
NSW Rural Fire Service units from Newee Creek, Valla and North Macksville set up water supply and managed traffic flow on the road between Nambucca Heads and Bowraville.
The fire was extinguished about 7.30pm.
FRNSW has advised the leading cause of house fires in the state is leaving cooking unattended.
State firefighters attend about 4500 residential fires a year, with half starting in the kitchen.
If a pan catches fire, turn off the stove and use a lid to cover the flames, if safe to do so.
Use a fire extinguisher or fire blanket in the first few seconds of ignition, if you are confident.
Leave the kitchen, close the door and call triple-0 if at all necessary.
FRNSW warns never to use water to put out a fat or oil fire.
