Bradley John Fanning pleads guilty at Coffs Harbour court to drug supply after being busted with bag of meth

A large bag of meth fell from the clothes of a Mercedes Benz driver as he was being searched by police on the Coffs Coast. Here’s how he fared in court.

A black Mercedes Benz which had just run out of registration caught the attention of police patrolling the Pacific Highway at Coffs Harbour before a large bag of meth was discovered.

It was 2am on November 6 when officers pulled over the luxury sedan in a breakdown lane opposite the Bailey Centre shopping centre.

“Due to the accused’s behaviour and information known, police formed the reasonable suspicion that the accused was in possession of an illicit substance and informed him he was going to be searched,” police state in court documents.

During a pat-down of Bradley John Fanning, officers found a “large resealable bag containing a crystal-like substance” that “fell from the accused’s clothing onto the ground”.

Fanning, 54, was arrested and a search of the Mercedes revealed a small quantity of cannabis and more methamphetamines.

The drugs were seized, along with the Coffs Harbour man’s phone.

In Coffs Harbour Local Court on Wednesday, Fanning pleaded guilty to deemed supply prohibited drug greater than indictable but less than commercial quantity (69.08g of meth), and two counts of possessing a prohibited drug (0.14g of ice and 1g of cannabis).

Magistrate Julia Virgo adjourned to November 15 for sentence.
