THE family of Jordan Bolt will hold a peaceful protest next month as they continue searching for answers about his death.
April 2 will mark the second anniversary since police found the 19-year-old’s body in Coffs Harbour Creek, four days after he was reported missing.
The NSW Coroner found the official cause of death was consistent with drowning, and alcohol toxicity was a factor but not a direct cause.
Two years later, Jordan’s family is continuing to search for answers about how the fit young man who was an excellent swimmer and first-grade football player could die in this manner.
Father-in-law Ron Carriage said among the questions still to be answered was the source of a contusion on the back of his head.
“The past couple of years have been tough for his family and my daughter (Jordan’s partner) has gone downhill,” he said.
“There are a lot of questions that haven’t been answered. Not knowing is the hardest part,” he said.
On the night Jordan went missing, police say the young man attended a party in BoultwoodSt and several witnesses believed they saw him walking along the Pacific Hwy.
His family says they searched the creek for four days after reporting him missing, before emergency services conducted the search that found his body.
Mr Carriage said various rumours had circulated about the circumstances leading to Jordan’s death.
“It’s been said there was a truck driver that saw things, that Jordan was chased into the creek – we just don’t know,” he said.
Ron said the family had not given up hope of finding out what happened.
“It’s been two years and we think of him every day,” he said.
“He was a good kid, he had good mates. We just want answers.”
The peaceful protest will start at 3pm on April 2 at Jordan’s memorial site at the Fern Tree Creek bridge, continuing to Coffs Harbour Police Station.
