A new case of Covid-19 has been reported in Coffs Harbour, bringing the total number to four in a week.
A NSW Health spokesman said the new case was a close contact of the person who tested positive on Saturday, and who had acquired the virus from outside the region.
Coffs Harbour’s Hoey Moey confirmed that person was residing at their accommodation at the time and close contacts had been identified and contacted.
The new case has been in isolation since the weekend and was not infectious in the community.
The news comes after NSW Health confirmed another person, who was also a close contact of the Hoey Moey case, tested positive to the virus earlier this week.
They also remain in isolation and were not infectious in the community.
After an assessment from NSW Health, the venue was given the all clear and was not identified as a venue of concern.
There are currently no venues of concern listed in Coffs Harbour.
There have now been a total of 12 cases reported on the Mid North Coast since the beginning of the current NSW outbreak.
Ongoing sewage surveillance has also detected fragments of the virus at the West Kempsey treatment plant from samples taken on September 21.
The sewage treatment plant serves about 5900 residents in areas north of the Macleay River.
People are being urged to monitor for symptoms, and if they appear to immediately be tested and isolate until a negative result is received.
