Covid lockdown was not going to get in the way this year as the Sikh community celebrated Baisakhi for the first time since 2019.
The festival is traditionally held annually on April 13 as a celebration of spring harvest primarily in Northern India.
While it’s culturally significant as a festival of harvest, some also consider it to be the legitimate date for the Indian Solar New Year.
The Sikh community paraded through Woolgoolga to mark the occasion.
