Blackrock Industries, NORTEC enter workplace partnership

Job prospects for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community are tipped to expand with the joint venture planned by NORTEC and Blackrock Industries

BENEFITS for Indigenous jobseekers are likely to increase following a joint venture formed by NORTEC and Blackrock Industries.

Sustainable employment outcomes are tipped once the strategic partnership between the prominent employment and training leader and the Hunter Valley-based Indigenous labour hire company hits top gear.

NORTEC chair, Geoffrey Colwill, said the partnership agreement incorporates a deep commitment from both parties.

He says it will collaboratively develop a range of new methods to attract and support the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, as well as ex-offenders, into sustainable employment.

"NORTEC will utilise experience, capability and networks to facilitate the growth pursued by Blackrock Industries,” he said.

"This partnership reflects deep commitment to improving Indigenous engagement and is very closely aligned to our organisational core values of inclusion, respect, integrity and accountability.”

CEO of NORTEC, Kim Harrison, said working together will provide an enhanced focus on achieving long-term employment outcomes for jobseekers and the community.

"We are very pleased to be able to expand our geographic presence into the Hunter Valley with a partner of high integrity,” he said.
