Coffs Harbour massage therapist in court on sexual assault charges

A 64-year-old male staff member at a Coffs massage parlour has been charged with sexual intercourse without consent, and two counts of sexually touching. See what happened when he appeared in court.

The 64-year-old accused of sexually assaulting a client at a Coffs Central massage parlour appeared in court on Wednesday (May 4).

Wenyu Wei is accused of sexually assaulting a woman during a scheduled appointment recently.

The Chinese national was arrested just before 5pm on Tuesday and remanded in custody prior to his court appearance.

Wei is charged with sexual intercourse without consent, and two counts of sexually touch another person without consent.

He did not enter a plea and Magistrate Ian Rodgers granted him bail on a number of conditions including he must live at his Woolgoolga address and abide by a curfew between the hours of 8pm and 8am.

Wei was also instructed to forfeit his passport and any other travel documents and not go within 50km of any point of departure from Australia.

As part of the bail conditions, he must not enter Coffs Central massage or any other massage clinic or perform massages in any other setting.

He must report to the Coffs Harbour Police Station every Monday and Thursday.

The case was adjourned to June 28.
