REVENGE is a dish best served cold, and for Mix FM's Caroline Hutchinson that was bitterly cold yesterday.
For co-host Mark Darin's birthday Caroline was blindfolded and put into a crane where she spent the remainder of the day in the name of charity.
The chilly south-easterly winds accompanied by sideways falling rain battered Caroline all day as the $20,000 needed to get her down dripped in, to Mark's delight.
Mark taunted her all day from the safety of his cosy tent on ground level.
"I thought we'd put her up there, get the $20,000 and she'd come down, see you later," he said.
"But apparently people are enjoying watching her pain.
"I'm eating cake, donuts and all sorts of things down here."
Over the past three years Caroline has set Mark up with various stunts and pranks on air, so it was Caroline's turn to face the music.
Mark had his head shaved, was thrown out of a plane and had a doctor perform a prostate examination on air, or as Mark put it: "I had a finger up my clacker".
Mark said he only did it to help her face her fear of heights.
"It's making me more frightened of heights," Caroline said in response.
"That is just so pathetic, I've only done nice things for him.
"I did him a favour, he needed a haircut.
"I gave him a new experience, jumping out of a plane and I made sure his prostate was healthy."
But it was all in the name of good fun and charity with all the money raised going to 92.7 Mix FM's Give me 5 for kids.
