GIRLS just wanna have fun and the best time and place to have it will be the Cancer Council Girls' Night at 7pm this Friday at the Ocean Shores Tavern.

Last year's event at the tavern raised more than $2000, and organiser Kim Dowling said the prizes would be even bigger and better this year, including a tandem skydive from Byron Bay Skydive.

"Ellen Briggs will be on deck bringing the laughter, and the guest speaker is Dr Becky Tallis," said Kim

"And as usual our Tav Lads will be getting down to their pink jocks for the cause."

Every day in Australia, about 50 women are diagnosed with breast or a gynaecological cancer

"The Cancer Council is the only cancer charity in Australia that funds research to beat breast and gynaecological cancers while also supporting the entire cancer journey," said Kim.

This year Pink Ribbon aims to raise $9.47 million nationally and $3.66 million across NSW.

Tickets are just $10 at the door and will include bubbles and tasty tapas on arrival.

For information, call Kim on 0418 206 396.
