The Mullum Circus Festival has this week announced a rebrand, as tickets go on sale for the 2021 event.

Now known as the National Circus Festival, the even will involve a four-day training program from September 20 to 23, and a public program from September 24 to 26.

The festival, which will be held at Mullumbimby Showground, will feature top circus talents from across the country.

The program will involve more than 50 events across three stages.

With the early bird program announcement, event organisers have unveiled 10 of the featured acts.

These include Collision, a contemporary circus and street dance performance formed by Brisbane companies in Casus Circus and Mad Dance House, celebrated acrobat Alex Mizzen, hula hooper Anna Fisher, Jack Silvestro and Victoria’s Circus Trick Tease.

Dale Woodbridge-Brown, a renowned acrobat from all-male cabaret Briefs: Close Encounters, will MC the event.

The Byron Shire’s Dr Hubble, Spaghetti Circus graduate Hannah Richards and Spaghetti Circus’ new troupe show, Bails of Hey, will also be featured in the festival.

Festival director Alice Cadwell welcomed the event’s rebrand along with the first program release.

“After our hiatus with the festival, it feels great to come back in such a strong fashion with new branding and an amazing program – this early release is just a tip of the iceberg of what we’re offering in 2021,” she said.

“This year’s festival will truly be a celebration of circus for everyone with world-class shows, broad training program featuring highly-skilled teaching artists, fun for the whole family, unexpected delights, a giant globe, great food and coffee and so much more.”

A limited run of early bird tickets are available here.
