If you have spent any time in Brunswick Heads lately you have probably noticed some work has been under way on the riverbank at Banner Park.
Reflections Holiday Parks has been conducting this work for some time.
Workers dismantled most of the children’s playground in the same park in December.
At that time Reflections – which runs three camping grounds in the town – said the facility was due to be upgraded.
A Reflections spokeswoman has shed light on the progress of those works and explained other works underway in the area.
“The rock revetment works commenced in February this year and the works in Banner Park are just about completed,” she said.
“The playground concept design for Banner Park is being reviewed by Byron Shire Council with construction of the new playground to commence in June 2021.
“Both of these projects are included in the scope of works of the Regional Growth Environment and Tourism Fund totalling $1.2 million and Reflections contributing a further $225,000.”
The said the entire project involves refurbishment of amenities at Banner Park, Torakina Reserve and Terrace Reserve, Rock Revetment Repairs, the Banner Park playground replacement and the inclusion of all-abilities beach access at Torakina Beach.”
