Byron Bay Covid: When next sewage monitoring results should be available
More samples have been taken from Byron Shire treatment plants but residents will have to wait a little longer to see the outcome.

Samples are still being taken from sewerage treatment plants in the Byron Shire after a positive Covid-19 detection last week.
Fragments of the virus that causes Covid-19 were detected in Byron Bay sewage in July.
Fragments were again detected during the week of August 20, then again in a sample taken from Byron Bay on August 26.
Byron mayor Michael Lyon said the latest samples from local sites were sent on Tuesday and results were expected “in a day or two”.
Byron Shire Council has meanwhile confirmed samples are being taken from the shire’s four sewage treatment plants.
Byron Bay is being tested twice a week, with samples being taken on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The Brunswick Valley, Ocean Shores and Bangalow sites are having samples collected on Tuesdays only.
The Northern NSW Local Health District has been approached for comment.
