A female police officer from a northern NSW command who stands accused of a number of serious domestic violence charges is due to face court.
In July, NSW Police Force Northern Region command officers commenced an investigation into a number of alleged domestic violence offences that occurred earlier this year, a NSW Police spokesperson said.
Following inquiries, a 31-year-old female officer has been ordered to attend court and was charged with eight counts of common assault (DV), two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV) and destroy or damage property (DV).
She is expected to face Byron Bay Local Court on Tuesday, October 8.
The officer has been suspended with pay, a NSW Police spokesperson confirmed.
