Bluesfest Byron Bay has announced its rescheduled 2021 festival will be held in October.

“It’s finally here – the announcement you have all been patiently waiting for,” Bluesfest organisers said in a statement on their social media.

The message has also been sent directly to fans.

“Bluesfest 2021 will be back this year over the October long weekend,” they said.

The event, which was scrapped at the last minute before at Easter due to COVID-19 cluster fears, will now be held from Friday, October 1 to Monday, October 4.

“The new October season is a jam-packed four days,” they said.

“But this does not mean that current five-day season ticketholders miss out.

“We have something very special in store for you; this will be announced next week along with the full festival line-up announcement.

“Trust us when we say the wait will have all been worth it. We are rising and this event just got even bigger.”

They said more Australian talent would be on the new line-up.

Season tickets will go on sale next week, according to the post.

“At this time, all current Bluesfest 2021 ticketholders will receive official communication from Moshtix and will be given information on how to roll over to the new event, with the option to request a refund remaining available.

“Until then, keep holding your tickets.”

They said in the pose they are “expecting to see sales reach capacity” after processing the rollover of current patrons.
