Brazilian model and girlfriend charged over attacking male flatmate over bond money
Vinicius Vargas was left with a bloodied, bruised and swollen face including multiple red scratches, a haemorrhage to his left eye and an acrylic nail in his mouth when his flatmates allegedly attacked him over bond money on the day he was moving out.
A PART-time model and her friend allegedly attacked a male flatmate so viciously he was left with a red acrylic fingernail in his mouth, during a dispute over rental bond, a court has heard.
Police allege Brazilian nationals Flavia Botelho, 27, and Ligia De Silveira, 20, launched themselves on Vinicius Vargas, 34, during an argument in their shared Manly unit.
Botelho and De Silveira were in the process of moving out of the Darley Rd unit at the time of the alleged assault, after Botelho and Vargos had ended a two month relationship.
The Daily Telegraph understands Vargas was talking to the women on July 29 about returning bond money, but said he would keep some of it to pay for a key that had not been returned.
Police will allege De Silveira ran across the living room and tried to swipe $700 cash from a bench before she began “clawing at the face” of Vargas.
Soon afterwards, Botelho allegedly punched her ex-lover in the face before De Silveira scratched Vargas in the eye and across his face.
Photographs taken after the alleged attack show Vargas’ face bloodied, bruised and swollen with multiple red scratches. He also suffered a haemorrhage to his left eye, a doctor’s report said.

Two other female flatmates broke up the fight. When the entire group went to Manly police station, Botelho and De Silveira initially accused Vargas of attacking them, denying they were the instigators of the incident.
The women were later charged with one count each of common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Neither have entered pleas.
Vargas appeared in Manly Local Court yesterday charged with spitting on one of the girls during an incident the day before the Brazilian bond brawl. He declined to comment as he left the courthouse yesterday.
