PAULINE Hanson has called out local LNP MPs over a billboard urging motorists to sign a petition to upgrade the Bruce Highway.

In a video posted to YouTube, Ms Hanson says the MPs, as members of the governing party, did not need to petition themselves to upgrade the highway.

Ms Hanson says she spotted the Boost the Bruce billboard, which includes pictures of Longman MP Wyatt Roy and Petrie MP Luke Howarth, while driving up to the Sunshine Coast.

The billboard promotes a petition for Federal and State funding to upgrade the highway to "at least six lanes", to fix the bottleneck and upgrade the turnoff to the Gateway Motorway, and to flood-proof the Bruce Highway between Caboolture and Steve Irwin Way.

The campaign was launched by Longman MP Wyatt Roy last year and is backed by Coast Federal MPs Luke Howarth (Petrie), Peter Dutton (Dickson), and Mal Brough (Fisher) along with Queensland Liberal Party Senator James McGrath

"This billboard really made my blood boil," she says in the video.

"The Liberal-National Party are pretending to do something about upgrading the Bruce Highway to six lanes by starting a petition.

"The problem is, when you're in government you don't need to petition yourself to allocate vital infrastructure money.

"Australians are fed up with the BS the politicians are feeding to them."

Ms Hanson says the Federal Government would have been better off redirecting the funding used on the billboard to the highway upgrade.

"It's a start, but you've got to start somewhere," she said.

In a statement, Ms Hanson says she is on the Coast to host a fundraising lunch with supporters and to attend tomorrow's citizenship ceremony.
