The biggest story this week was about a woman who breastfeeds her 36-year-old partner. That's some strange love.

THE biggest story of the week across the whole APN group was a messed up yarn about some woman in the 'wholesome' southern states of the good ol' U.S of A.

This woman, so the story goes, quit her job to breastfeed her 36-year-old partner. Every two hours!

Now that is some strange stuff.

And you people lapped it up. 105,000 times and counting. Weirdos.

Just for you then, here are my Top 5 songs about strange love.

1: Girlfriend In A Coma - The Smiths (1987)

It's hard to imagine Morrissey ever having a girlfriend. He's pretty strange and this song is a perfect example.

2. I Wanna Be Your Dog - The Stooges (1969)

Iggy Pop should be on a leash. A short one. He proves it here.

3. Wannabe - Spice Girls (1996)

I can't believe I'm putting Spice Girls in a Top 5 of anything, but I've always found this "love" song exceptionally strange.

"If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends (gotta get with my friends) "

Ummmmm….. ok.

4. Drain You - Nirvana (1991)

Oh Kurt, you glorious twisted memory. Here is a man who's idea of love extends to songs such as "Rape Me" and "Heart Shaped Box"…the man had obviously various issues, but he wrote some of the best strange love songs on record.

5. I Love My Dog - Cat Stevens (1966)

I love Cat Stevens, but this is a very odd choice for his very first single. Isn't it? A Cat singing about his love for a dog. Strange.

However…between you and me, I know what he means. I love my dogs, more than I love you.

Dishonourable Mentions

Pharmascists Daughter - NOFX (2000)

One of the greatest bands on the face of the earth, and so many songs about strange love, but only a few that are company-acceptable. These guys take the mickey like no other band I've ever heard.

Milkshake - Kelis (2003)
