Reckless truckie puts driver in scary situation on highway

I was driving home on Sunday night when I was put in a dangerous situation by a truck driver on the Bruce Highway.

I'M sorry but some truck drivers need to get off their high horses and realise they're not the only ones on the Bruce Highway.

Yes I understand they have deadlines to meet, but that's no excuse to instil fear into innocent drivers sharing the road. 

I was driving home to Hervey Bay from a weekend of yoga training on the Sunshine Coast on Sunday night when I was put in a dangerous situation by a truck driver.   

I was in a convoy of cars heading north of Gympie when I noticed a truck driver in my rear-view mirror getting dangerously close.

A 4WD and I were in the merging lane and the truck was clearly behind me moments before we began to move across. 

Next second the truck gained momentum and I only just made it into the lane ahead of him.

Both the driver of the 4WD and I were doing the speed limit and it was lucky the 4WD veered to the left into a turning lane straight after our dangerous merge because things could have got messy.

The driver then proceeded to honk his horn.

I understand it's not every truckie but it is moments like this that give our hardworking truck drivers a bad name. 

Being tail gated is reckless driving that could easily have ended in another fatality on our roads.

It really hits home just how dangerous our roads can be when you're put in a situation like this.
