A man has been charged over the allegation he inappropriately touched a woman in the stage crowd at Byron Bay’s Bluesfest Music Festival.

A man will fight the accusation he inappropriately touched a woman amid a crowd at Byron Bay’s Bluesfest Music Festival.
Patrick Kyle Howard, 27, pleaded not guilty at Byron Bay Local Court on Monday after being charged with sexually touching another person without consent.
It’s alleged the Ocean Shores man groped the festival goer in a stage crowd between 10.15pm and 11.30pm on April 7.
The woman reported the matter to police resulting in Howard’s arrest on April 9.
Howard has been granted bail on the condition he does not contact the victim or anyone involved in the legal proceedings.
Police documents state Howard has ties to the Ocean Shores Community.
“The accused has a previous criminal history of traffic and street offences,” court documents state.
Police have deemed the matter very serious with the crime carrying a maximum penalty of five years jail.
For the prosecution case, police have obtained statements and CCTV footage which places Howard at the alleged location, court documents state.
Howard will face Byron Bay Local Court on June 19 for a hearing.
