THE seats filled quickly on the Hayne Plane, for the past few weeks I could not watch the news, log on to Facebook or pick up a paper without seeing one of Australia's greatest sporting exports do his thing with the 49ers.
I was instantly transported back 12 months as South Sydney were running hot towards the NRL premiership and all of a sudden everyone was a Rabbitohs supporter.
NFL experts came out of the woodwork as Hayne went from NRL superstar, to possible draftee, to the 49ers' roster for the season.
The build up to Hayne's first regular-season game was amazing, the updates on news services were constant and a little too much for me, and now I am wondering if the hype around the former Blues fullback will last much longer.
There is no doubt Hayne has deserved most of the attention he received over the past months but the long grind of an NFL season could have the national media outlets distracted.
Australian's cricketers will have a Tests matches against New Zealand and West Indies along with One Day and Twenty20 games against India.
And the 2015-2016 A-League season has the potential to be one of the best competitions Australia has seen.
With so much sport to digest every year it seems too much for regular fans to stomach many more serves of Jarryd Hayne as he battles through the NFL season.
I do hope however, Hayne's growth in the game is followed because he thoroughly deserves all the recognition he is getting.
