Mother's Day is a day to celebrate those most important

EDITORIAL: IT’S a big day tomorrow for those most important people - our mums.

IT'S a big day tomorrow for those most important people - our mums.

Although it has been commercialised beyond all recognition, the basic premise is still a very valid one.

Mothers deserve extra recognition.

They are so instrumental and important in all our lives.

So it is appropriate that we all make a special effort tomorrow to say a simple thanks.

Mums don't really need a special day to know they are important.

Their everyday care of their children - even their adult children - is something that is built into their DNA.

It is important we do not take them for granted.

Any mother will be content to know her children are happy and safe.

Not much else matters.

We all know some amazing mothers and we have featured several of them in the paper today.

But the most amazing mum I know is close to my home and my heart.

She is my wife.
