Man charged after Ballina highway crash ended in death of 61-year old
A man will appear in court next month after being charged following a crash on a Far North Coast highway which ended in the death of a 61-year old man.

A man has been charged after a crash near Ballina ended in the death of a 61-year old.
About 2.30pm on Saturday January 8 2022, emergency services responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash between a van and a utility on the Bruxner Highway at Uralba, about 10 km west of Ballina.
The driver of the utility, a 61-year old man from Lindendale, died at the scene.
The 27-year old man who was driving the van was trapped and was treated by paramedics before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital.
A 26-year old male passenger was also treated at the scene.
Officers from Richmond Police District secured and examined the crime scene and began an investigation into the crash.
Following inquiries, a 27-year old East Ballina man was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and negligent driving occasioning death.
He was granted bail to appear at Ballina Local Court on Thursday July 14.
