RECENTLY, it has been revealed that current treasurer, after delivering his 2016-2017 Budget in May hosted an invite-only party for visitors and staff and we, the taxpayers, were billed $11,525.
He out-spent his predecessor by about $1,500.
Scott Morrison's frivolous knees-up cost more than half the single aged pension of $20,755 per year.
Mr Morrison has also announced that after 20th September new aged pensioners, New Start and welfare recipients will no longer get the carbon tax compensation.
This effectively reduces the single aged pension by $368 pa and creates two levels of recipients for the next few decades. What is fair about that?
During his budget speech, Mr Morrison said that we must "ensure the government lives within its means. This is not a time to be splashing money around."
So it seems it is one rule for them and one rule for the rest of us. This out of touch Turnbull government just does not get it.
