GYMPIE'S Optus National Country Music Muster is Australia's largest community organised event and annually presents some of Australia's best artists and performers in an Australian bush setting.

There will be no exception next month for the enormous talent and artists lining up to perform at the 29th Muster, with Australian greats Troy Cassar-Daley and The McClymonts cutting their US tours short to be home in time to take the stage in the Amamoor State Forest.

“It's a monumental time for the Optus Muster as it approaches its 29th year of operation,” said Muster chairman Carl Green.

“The huge line-up of Australian artists this year, including Lee Kernaghan, Graeme Connors, John Williamson and the Sunny Cowgirls, are contributors to the Muster's continued success.”

Muster artist co-ordinator Marylou Goodall said the Muster was integral to Australian artists, communities and music. The Muster stage has been home to both up-and-coming and established artists, and continues to be a showcase of the tremendous talent that comes out of Australia.

Troy Cassar-Daley is among the artists who regularly shine on the main stage and said he would not miss the opportunity that the Muster provided each year to play for the Australian public and his fans.

“We made plans to get home from the US in time to play at this year's Muster. We wouldn't miss it for the world,” said the McClymonts.

“The Optus Muster will have a large diversity of artists performing at this year's event and will have some new additions never before seen at the Muster,” Marylou said.

The Muster is on August 24-29.
