Ballina BP travel centre ‘venue of concern’ following positive Covid-19 case visit

The Northern NSW Local Health District notified the public that a confirmed case of Covid-19 visited the centre at West Ballina on August 20.

A Northern Rivers service station has been identified as a venue of concern after a positive Covid-19 case visited the region.

Northern NSW Local Health District notified the public on Sunday evening that a confirmed case of Covid-19 visited the BP Travel Centre at West Ballina on 20 August 2021.

Acting Chief Executive Northern NSW Local Health District Lynne Weir said anyone who attended the BP Travel Centre at 41 Bruxner Hwy from 8am — 8.30am on Friday August 20 is a casual contact and must immediately get tested and isolate until a negative result is received.

Testing clinics open in Ballina on Monday include:

– Ballina 4Cyte Pathology Ballina Drive-through Clinic, 319 River St, Ballina

– Ballina Respiratory Clinic, 92 Tamar Street, Shop 12, Tamar Shopping Village,

Ballina

– Alstonville Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology, 106 Main St, Shop 2, Alstonville

– Southern Cross University Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology Drive-through Clinic

Military Road, Southern Cross University, East Lismore

– Lismore Base Hospital, Uralba St, Lismore

– Lismore Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology, 62 Wyrallah Road, Shop 12, Wyrallah

Once you have been tested, go straight home and self-isolate until you receive a negative result.

As the current situation evolves, Ms Weir also strongly encourages people to present for testing at the first sign of a respiratory or cold-like illness, such as a runny nose, sore throat, cough, fever or headache.

There are more than 450 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW, many of which are open seven days a week.
